Hull Veteran’s Weekend 2013
The Hull & East Riding Branch RMPA attended the Hull Veteran’s Weekend at the end of July.
It was estimated that over the weekend 50, 000 people came through the gates at East Park in Hull and none will have left disappointed. With many re-enactment groups including the famous American Civil War Society, and societies covering the First World War, Second World War and even the British Army in the late eighties and nineties.
The Veteran’s tent housed various local military associations, including the recently formed Aden’s Veteran’s Association and the Hull Veteran’s Support Centre.
The Branch displayed many Military Police items dating from the present back to the Second World War, from items of uniform to route signing and our Branch Archive which contains photographs and clippings dating back to the 1950’s.
The Royal Military Police were the only Regular Army unit to put on a static display. They attended from 150 Pro Coy RMP stationed at Catterick, they turned up with a patrol car and a Land Rover which proved popular with the kids!
The weekend culminated with a freefall display from the Parachute Regiment Freefall Display Team, The Red Devils.
